CSD Emden - Visibility. Solidarity. Human rights.
Christopher Street Day (CSD) in Emden is more than just a colourful festival: it is a demonstration for equality, acceptance and the rights of queer people - here in East Frisia and everywhere. Even today, many LGBTIQ* people still experience marginalisation, discrimination and violence. This is precisely why we take to the streets.
CSD reminds us of its historical roots as a protest against oppression and that queer rights cannot be taken for granted. Rights that have been fought for can also be called into question again. With CSD Emden, we are sending a visible signal: in favour of an open society, for respect and for all people to be able to live freely and safely - regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
Together, we demonstrate loudly, in solidarity and peacefully. We show that queer life also belongs in East Frisia. CSD Emden is a day of solidarity, remembrance and commitment - and at the same time a day of joy, diversity and pride.
Be part of it. Because visibility creates change.
