Recorder meets rock music? Fabrice Bollon's "Your Voice Out of the Lamb" does just that. Inspired by Genesis, the work combines a wide variety of recorders with live electronics. Soloist Stefan Temmingh, winner of the Opus Klassik prize, impressively demonstrates the versatility of his instrument.
The other two works also tell sonorous water stories: Dvořák's symphonic poem "The Aquarius" depicts a dark fairytale drama from Czech folklore. Zemlinsky's "The Mermaid" is considered a masterpiece of Art Nouveau - a colourful setting of Andersen's fairy tale in which sound and emotion run high.
